The Brown I field trip first day

Don's fast, we get to the airport, open laptops, and what do we see, our pictures already posted by Don. I think we all look good considering the time of the morning. Look closely at the eyes and you can see who has had the least sleep or who is the morning person. All went well, we are checked in, through security and at the gate an hour early. That's good, no stress. Little or no traffic at the hour we came through SF. Like good followers of Don, we opened our laptops and blogged about the start of our trip.  I won't mention names but we did have one person who was two pounds over on the luggage weight limit. They were told that the overage would cost $50.00. They tried to transfer toiletries to carry on bag, but the bottles exceeded the carry on limit so they had to go back to the check in counter to check them on as a second bag.  Ready to board.

Denver: About a half an hour layover and then boarding. No WiFi at the Denver airport. Some students opened Word and started on their blogs, to be entered later.

Providence: We arrive early and pick up our bags with no problems. We get to the car rental and they suggest we upgrade to a single suburban that would provide room for everyone and have room for luggage. The luggage was a little tight, but we made it, all on board. GPS got us to the hotel through rush hour traffic.  We went to dinner at the Cuban Revolution. It was my first Cuban food. Reminded me of Central American food, with the rice and black beans as the basic and then other entres (pork or chicken) added in. Started to sprinkle as we walked back to the hotel. I ordered box lunches from Nardelli's for tomorrow as we leave Wesleylyan, before we head for Yale. Everyone knows to get to bed early. Breakfast is at 6:30 AM and we are on the road at 7:00 AM to get to Weslylyan by 8:45 AM.

  1. Glad the trip went as smoothly as could be expected.

I'll be posting my own blog about the "crooked" scales at the airport but I'm standing by my readings.
