Brown Here I Come!

Finally, the last meeting until I head off to Brown. It has been so busy, not only for me, but for the rest of the cohort. Attending to many dinners, going to tutorials, filling out paperwork, and juggling school! It has been such a busy time for us, but now it is over (or at least for now it is).
Mr. Ramsey discussing the importance of punctuality
I arrived at Pinole Middle School 10 minutes earlier, remembering the importance that Don and Mr. Ramsey had emphasized the day of the dinner at Boulevard. As I entered I found Don placing all the display loaner items on a table. I looked at every single one of the items that were already out and asked Don some questions concerning a few items. Then I headed to look for a seat with my mother. The next thing I knew Mr. Ramsey was already beginning the orientation. it was no surprise to me that he began with the importance of punctuality. Afterward the chaperones were presented, and then everyone split into their groups.
A Few of Don's Loaner Items
Orientation was such a great informative meeting, it cleared up all my questions as well as the questions that my parents had. I learned so much about what to expect and what not to expect. I also learned more about the colleges we are going to visit, and how the living on the Brown campus might be. There couldn't have been a better orientation than this one.

  1. Abby,

It doesn't matter how much information we send your way over the months prior to departure, there are always more questions that need to be answered. We've found that the Orientation is a useful tool for helping to answer those questions. We're glad that you found it useful.

This was by far the largest group (104) that we've ever had for an orientation and the logistics were tricky. With so many graduation activities going on this time of year it was difficult to find a location that would suit our needs. On the whole, I think this locale worked well for us.

We have such high hopes for you and your cohort, Abby. You're going to have a blast and we know you'll return changed women.
